Students and employees of UCT Prague have the opportunity to obtain a personal chip ID card, which serves as a student/employee ID card and can be used for the following activities - for access to the buildings and rooms of UCT Prague, cashless payments for printing and copying, payments for catering in the canteen in Dejvice and Jižní město, etc.

Variants of the ID card

The ID card is available in several variants differing in printing and usability outside of university. Their use is identical within the UCT Prague.

ID card variants for students

  • student card of the University of Central and Eastern Europe in Prague
  • UCT Prague student card in the design of the ISIC (international student card)

ID card variants for employees

  • UCT Prague employee card
  • UCT Prague employee card in the design of the ITIC (international teacher card)

ISIC and ITIC cards offers discounts and other benefits. Further information can be obtained at www.isic.cz.

The "ITIC" card is available to employees who are employed by VŠCHT Praha as an academic staff member for an indefinite or fixed-term contract, with a minimum duration of 12 months from the date of application for the card.

Only full-time(daily) students of VŠCHT Praha are entitled to the "ISIC" card.

How, when and where to get an ID card

To obtain an ID card, you must be photographed. The photo session takes place in room S06(in the basement of Building B next to the Carbon Club). This is also where the cards are collected, losses are reported and validity of ISIC/ITIC cards are extended.

Bring your personal ID card/passport or other proof of identity and money to cover the card making fee. You cannot bring your own photo (it will be taken directly at the card centre). You'll receive the card immediately.

Note for new students that have issued a card in August - the ISIC card will be automatically active in the first working week of September, the student card from the second day after issue.

Claims

free of charge - all types of cards (if the validity of the claimed ISIC card is not extended, it is necessary to pay a validation stamp when claiming). The newly issued card will already be valid for the current school year. Anyone whose photo is no longer recognizable on the card or if the card's functionality has changed through no fault of the cardholder (chip error, etc.) is eligible for a claim.
The Computer Centre reserves the right to have the condition of the card assessed by a member of the Computer Centre staff, who will decide on the claim.
Card claims do not apply to cases where the printing of the photograph and printed data has been removed due to the non-use of the protective cover.

Extension of the validity of ITIC and ISIC cards (validity of the validation stamp is max. 12 months)

  • ITIC - free of charge
  • ISIC - 300 CZK

The conditions for renewal of the ITIC card are the same as for its issue.
Cards and validation stamps are issued only to the cardholder.

The earliest the card can be extended for another year is September.

Cards issued to incoming students are valid from September.

ID card care

For optimal life of your ID card, we recommend that you keep it in a sturdy plastic container, do not fold it and do not expose it to chemicals and electromagnetic fields. The card supplier warns against the use of soft PVC cases, which are aggressive to the printed text and all printing will eventually disappear from the card. We recommend using only hard plastic cases.

Returning ID cards on termination of studies or employment

Employees will return the card to the Human Resources Department, students to the Copy Center.

Contact

If you have further questions, you can contact us by email karty@vscht.cz or by phone +420 220 443 243, +420 220 443 100.
