Overview of file and data storage options

If you need your files to be accessible from multiple computers, the following storage options are available:

Shared drives

These are mainly the user's home directory (z:) and a shared department drive (y:).

Files stored in this way are saved on a file server on the UCT Prague network. Access to them is unrestricted within the computer network of the UCT Prague, for access outside the network you need to use a VPN.

Cloud storage

The school has access to Microsoft's OneDrive and Cesnet's ownCloud.

The stored files are synchronised between computers on which the client software is installed via third-party servers or can be accessed via a web interface.
